Roblox Assistant’s new Roblox Chatlox Chat Bot helps to create virtual worlds
Roblox introduced a chatbot based on artificial intelligence Roblox Assistant, which allows you to create virtual worlds on a game platform. The company first showed the results of the solution of the solution on Roblox Developers Conference in early 2023.
The new tool is based on previously announced functions that help create virtual assets and write a code using commands in a natural language.
Using Roblock Assistant, developers will be able to add tips to create virtual media. In one of the demo, the instrument reports that they want to create a game in the setting of ancient ruins, and the chatbot adds stones covered with moss and destroyed buildings. Thus, the world can be supplemented with other objects.
Roblox will receive assets from its trading platform or from the library of visual resources, shared by the company representative Roman Skuratovsky.
Roblox Technical Director Daniel Sturman said that he is skeptical of generative AI, but he considers Roblox Assistant an interesting application of this technology. According to him, the tool can create basic game models of behavior, for example, teleport players to the right place after touching the door. Roblox Assistant also helps with writing code and answers questions about development on the platform.
Sturman notes that the chatbot will be launched at the end of this year or at the beginning of the next. In the future, Roblox Assistant will be able to create a complex gameplay and even 3D models, explained the technical director of the company.
Another of the AI innovations will allow Roblox users to create avatars from images and text tips, which will ensure a greater similarity of characters with players. The release of this tool will take place in 2024.
Another solution in Roblox uses AI to modulate voice communication in real time, which should help reduce toxicity on the platform. The company began to test the tool in August, and in the near future will introduce its English version. By the end of the year, the option will receive localization in Spanish, German, Italian and Portuguese.
Also on RDC 2023 Roblox announced that she wants to go beyond the application for children. The head of the company David Basuki promised that within five years thousands of adults will meet and form relations on the platform. Previously, Roblox added games in which only persons can participate over 17 years old.
