This is how an alien from Star Wars Jedi Survivor was created on the Internet

Respawn spoke about the creation of Turgl from Star Wars Jedi Survivor, a small green alien frog that conquered part of the Internet after the game is released.

The green alien-Lagushonok was for some the most striking event in the new Star Wars game, since its design, performance and character continue to prove that all the strange creatures of Star Wars, contrary to our common sense, are pretty eccentrics. Naturally, the developers of Star Jedi Survivor from Respawn are also counting the same and now talked about how the design of Turgla has influenced the fact that we loved so much in it

"On the one hand, you get a specific task for a particular character, where most anatomical and narrative requirements are already directed in the general direction, which largely determines the final type and nature of the creature", – Prima Games told the senior concept designer Jean-Franesu Rey Rey Revo.

On the other hand, sometimes they just tell you: "We need a whole bunch of aliens. We do not know who they are, we do not know how many of them we need, but we will definitely need the aliens, so just enjoy this – and from your individual creative process".

"I made a number of approximately 15 aliens sketches that were supposed to live in the Paba Pobe area, and five of them were chosen, including Turgla", – Ray adds, explaining how Turgl, starting with his appearance, voice and ending with movements, appeared as a result of joint work. "This is really a completely joint process, and the final version eventually became a surprise for me, in a very good way".

Rey even says that the Respawn team began to truly value Tourgl closer to the end of the development and even share memes about a strange guy.

Jedi Survivor screenwriter Danny Homan, who recently spoke about work on the BD-1, also spoke about Turgle, explaining what kind of general narrative goal the team pursued in relation to this character.

To explore how every character in Rambler’s Reach perceived and belonged to Turgla, it was also very fun. He is a classic instigator, and one of our narrative goals was to make him so outrageous that the players wanted to return to talk to him in Pyloon’s Saloon.
